Job Description

The Project Communications Manager is responsible for supporting the Program Manager in multiple, concurrently active airport construction and maintenance projects.

Primary responsibilities will include maintaining communication between stakeholders and facilitating coordination of impactful work activities occurring throughout multiple City of Phoenix owned Airports. As well as developing messaging and visual communication for mass distribution.

An individual interested in filling this position will work closely with contractor personnel and City of Phoenix staff, operating under tight deadlines and prioritizing tasks. This individual must maintain organization, file project documentation, and enter necessary data while remaining flexible and ready to adapt to additional project workloads.

Responsibilities –

· Organize and monitor schedules ensuring deadlines are met

· Manage project tracking and contact information

· Data entry and information tracking via multiple information databases

· Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects

· Determine and update project contact information on a continuous basis

· Participate in creative sessions for graphic needs and collateral materials

· Ensure high-level consistency among all communication material

· Maintain current awareness of construction activities by gathering information and understanding the nuances of airports and each project

· Communicate with outside agencies, clients, vendors, contractors, and the public

Daily tasks –

· Attend multiple daily meetings and maintain awareness of ongoing construction activities through tracking of project schedules

· Identify construction impacts and stakeholders

· Coordinate construction activity with various stakeholders; including system shutdowns, traffic restrictions and any work deemed impactful

· Collaborate with the project team and associated stakeholders, contributing to coordination and messaging throughout the entire project lifecycle

· Develop messaging for mass communication of construction and associated impacts

· Design and manage implementation temporary wayfinding and sign plans

· Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of services to fulfill client and contractual requirements

· Answer a 24/7 Construction Hotline on a rotating on-call basis

· Assist with internal initiatives and any other special projects or tasks as assigned

What we are looking for:

Education & Experience –

· Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, project management, construction management or related field and 3+ years of experience OR equivalent experience

· Experience effectively communicating complex messages

· Experience combining and formatting multiple digital file document types to clearly and concisely present compiled information

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint

· Experience with Office 365 including OneNote, OneDrive & Microsoft Teams

· Knowledge of construction communication and aviation industry is preferred

· Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or InDesign is a plus

Skills & Qualifications –

· Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills

· Ability to determine relevant details while sorting through a high volume of information

· Strong ability to translate complex ideas and information into layman terms

· Capability to speak accurately in group settings

· Good presentation and public speaking skills

· Problem solver with a strong ability to prioritize and adjust in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines with shifting priorities

· Proficient in managing multiple collaborative projects with staff from a variety of disciplines with various levels of technical and non-technical backgrounds.

· Must have access to reliable transportation for multiple daily site visits

· Willingness to fulfill company duties including but not limited to over time during work week and potential weekend work due to on-call status
