Job Title: Plant Supervisor
Reports To: VP Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Arkadelphia, AR
Directs and coordinates activities of waste container repair and refurbishment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes certain that unsafe conditions and practices are identified and corrected. Ensures that the principals of safety are strongly engrained and strictly enforced to prevent financial loss, and human suffering caused by accidents and injuries.
Establishes and requires employees to meet expected output levels, increase efficiency of work flow and ensure lowest possible labor costs. Communicate issues to VP Operations and redirect labor as needed to eliminate or minimize costs incurred due to breakdowns or temporary shortages of material or manpower.
Ensures that fit up of repairs is correct before finish assembly or welding takes place. Performs periodic in-process inspections of repairs to ensure quality conformance, and process adherence.
Trains, instructs and disciplines employees. Provides leadership, motivation and information to all assigned personnel. Renders sound supervisory decisions based on company policy/practices and administers them effectively within the framework of current labor agreements.
Review repair schedule on daily basis and assign labor as needed to ensure all operations are completed as planned. Suggest or implement alternative courses of action to resolve operational and manufacturing delays.
Review and maintain daily operation reports and determine if output standards are being achieved. Suggest/implement changes to increase efficiency and output. Drives quality performance to include product quality, delivery quality, and quality workmanship and ensures compliance with the Quality Assurance System.
Sees that all equipment receives required preventative maintenance as scheduled. Ensures that all associated documentation is completed and filed. Direct activities of maintenance personnel to repair or correct equipment malfunctions as needed. Identifies trends in maintenance problems on all equipment.
Resolve employee issues at lowest level possible. Communicate all matters that require further attention Plant Manager for action.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervises up to 10 employees working shifts. Is responsible for the overall direction and performance of assigned employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; training employees, planning and directing work activities; evaluating employee performance, adherence to safety policies, work rules and production standards and reward or discipline as appropriate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus are also required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, machines and equipment. Heavy loads both overhead and at floor level, and inner plant material handling traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
