Job Description

 

Direct all activities of Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions. Coordinate with DC Management to set up and implement systems and procedures that support the WMS and operational efficiencies.

  • Recognized as the Subject Matter Expert in Manhattan Scale warehouse management system

  • Research, analyze and interpret WMS configuration options and use configuration to optimize operational flow.

  • Work with operations management to set up and maintain WMS locations, location classes, zones, and master strategies for system operation

  • Maintain all user, equipment, product, and facility parameter set ups within the WMS and WCS Dovetrack (Printers & Print Server, Scanners, Computers, Networking, ect.).

  • Work closely with IT Department to manage archiving routines, data warehousing for reporting, and general status of the Application and DB servers (Including but not limited to Handling Services, Shutdown Procedures, File Maintenance).

  • Review and utilize developed reports as needed to monitor system and operational goals based off available WMS data.

  • Responsible for ensuring that WMS is optimized for maximum performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Direct and oversee the training of employees in the use of WMS and RF devices.

  • Direct all activities of WMS Support personnel, including supervision of employees and monitoring of performance levels.

  • Ensure that each team member receives training, re-training, and cross training.

  • Conduct personnel evaluations with each team member.

  • Support long range facility planning (strategic planning), including warehouse layout, system integration and design, logistics planning and output requirement to maximize efficiency of both personnel and resources

  • Recommends processes and that will improve efficiencies and eliminate non-value add activities.

  • Supports process improvements, driving performance, increasing productivity and yielding tangible cost savings.

  • Leads all aspects of assigned projects or priorities and assumes overall responsivity for the management of pace, scope and risk, as well as benefits realization of assigned projects/priorities.

  • Responsible for the development of deployment design, roadmap development and communication to achieve desired results.

  • Interprets and analyzes data by monitoring trends over time and providing insight to identify action items and makes recommendations using technical experience, data, insights from subject matter experts and critical thinking.

  • Remains familiar and compliant with all company policies and procedures in the performance of job duties and regarding individual activities and behaviors.

  • Maintains acceptable attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental standards.

  • Conducts self in a professional, courteous, respectful and friendly manner at all times when interacting with coworkers, clients or vendors.

  • Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree B.S, B.S.E- emphasis on industrial engineering or process improvement engineering preferred.

  • 5 years of warehouse operations experience, specifically receiving, put-away, pick & pack, and shipping.

  • History of implementing and training lean principles.

  • Knowledge of various warehouse functions and operations including various strategies, equipment and interfaces.

  • Experience with WMS software (Manhattan Scale experience a plus)
