The General Ledger Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting duties. They will be responsible for maintaining the monthly general ledger. The General Ledger Accountant will also be responsible for the reconciliation financial account statements and for communicating discrepancies to the Shared Services Controller.
Summary of Duties:
§ Analyze transaction data for the purpose of identifying potential budget variances and for compiling statistical information.
§ Review and analyze financial account statements.
§ Create monthly journal entries for accruals and variances
§ Collaborate with other departments for the purpose of reconciling financial transactions and budgets.
§ Analyze accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash accruals, reconciliations, and foreign exchange (if applicable) to ensure they are balanced with Company financial statements and budgets
§ Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank transactions and balances
§ Prepare cash flow statements and resolve outstanding balancing issues
§ Perform accounting analysis, as requested, to support Company decision making
§ Record and reconcile inter-company transactions
§ Participate in month end closing activities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree focus in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting, manufacturing and/or aerospace experience preferred. Previous experience in general ledger accounting required.
Skills: Knowledge and experience with accounting systems and GAAP. Excellent analytical skills, as well as organizational and communication skills.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Windows-based operating systems
