Under the direction of the President and/or Operations Manager, technician installs, modifies and makes repairs to personal computer and server hardware and systems, and provides services to customers for all servers, computers, printers and other associated peripheral devices. Is responsible for configuring computers and other peripheral devices to attach to the customer networks, responding to assigned calls and basic server maintenance, and troubleshooting. Follows company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Duties
Install and configure personal computers/servers/networks. Install and configure applications on computers/servers as required.
Assists in network and departmental technology projects, from research through implementation. Assists with network backup maintenance and scheduling.
Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation, and diagnosis of system hardware, software and operator problems.
Performs server security and patch updates as necessary.
Provides setup and configuration of computing peripherals such as printers, CD and DVD read/writers, monitors, scanners, mice, special keyboards and other equipment as necessary.
Troubleshoots computer and peripheral issues and provides hardware replacement, cleaning or repair as needed. Maintains compliance with software licensing and inventory.
Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups and configuration of systems and applications.
Answers and responds to calls for service through company’s main office. Performs post-resolution and follow-up to service calls. Technician must possess excellent customer relations skills.
Ability to prioritize and schedule work duties.
Instructs/trains users in use of equipment, software and the network
Performs basic networking maintenance functions such as user creation and assignment of rights and permissions. Should be familiar with DHCP, DNS, IP, network traffic routing, WAN, LAN and internet connectivity. Some knowledge of remote access and VPNs.
Works closely with both technical and non-technical staff and is required to communicate effectively with both. Performs research on technical computer topics and pricing as requested by President or Operations Manager.
Answers phones when in the office and schedules appointments. Is required to participate in “on-call” rotation (at least one weekend per month) once familiar with company procedures, policies and practices (normally only for emergencies).
Relocation of computer and peripheral equipment throughout customer offices as necessary.
Assist in wiring/cabling projects.
Education: High School or equivalent, plus some higher education desired, A+ Certification Required. Combination of education and experience to demonstrate proficiency in PC/server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Prefer working knowledge of Windows 7 and 8 and 10, and Windows 11, and/or server 2016 and 2019.
One to two years’ previous experience including basic computer repair for an IT company. Preferable for candidate to have had some experience with servers and Microsoft Exchange and networking skills demonstrating ability to connect and configure computers and peripherals to the network; also, some knowledge of and experience in interfacing with Windows server 2016 R2 and Windows 2019 server. Some knowledge of iPhones Apple computers switches, routers, and IP traffic, knowledge of Active Directory is desirable. Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016 & 2019 or higher desirable.
Individual must be outgoing, organized, hardworking, and able to follow direction and be a team player. The successful candidate will have good communication skills and be geared to delivering a high level of customer satisfaction including follow through skills.
Must be able to cross sell services and products to existing customers
Must have ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work both independently and in group settings.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and own a reliable personal vehicle.
A clean drug and background check (never been charged/arraigned or convicted of anything other than a minor traffic violation?).
Ability to access various areas of Metropolitan Colorado Springs (occasionally Pueblo, Denver and Woodland Park areas).
Ability to lift and move computer terminals and peripheral equipment—sometimes up to 50 pounds.
Be able to work 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and ability to work one night per week from noon until 9-10 PM.
Must be able to work an occasional weekend (with prior notice) once or twice a year.
Must be willing to improve skills and knowledge through on-going training and self-study as needed.
