Business Analyst

PBG is looking for a Business Analyst with experience in software development to join our team of professionals, supporting our Government Customer in Washington, DC.

Location: McLean, VA | Temporary working remote during COVID-19

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document system requirements to aid system design and development
  • Collect, assess, and interpret data into meaningful visuals (e.g., charts, graphs)
  • Working with stakeholders to identify key performance information and reporting needs
  • Extract data from various data sources and perform exploratory to deep-dive analysis, cleanse, reshape and aggregate data
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as needed to conduct workshops and requirements elicitation
  • Collaborate with team to facilitate change management, stakeholder communications, system acceptance testing, and training delivery.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on IT organizational-related customer needs and IT topics (e.g., customer insight, technological, operational, policy) to develop insights to inform organizational strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in qualitative and quantitative discipline e.g., Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Operations Research
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in management & strategy consulting
  • At least 2 years relevant business analyst experience, integrating multiple data sources and drawing high-level, actionable conclusions.
  • Good command of MS Office products to include excellent ability to work with formulas and create graphical data within MS Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to facilitate customer requirements-gathering sessions
  • Strong ability to translate data into clear written, verbal and presentation/communication
  • Independent critical thinking skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity, and a customer service-oriented personality
  • Takes initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Collaborator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing client support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Experience serving federal government customers
  • Understanding and experience in Asset Management Software Solutions
  • Certification as a PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PBA), IIBA Certification in Business Data Analysis, or equivalent Software Business Analysis certifications
