Sales - Account Manager

PURPOSE: Primary responsibility is building customer relationships, increasing sales with new and existing customers and leading the sales team in customer/prospect/industry strategy and pipeline review sessions.

EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sales, or work experience equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Customer Relations, or equivalent. Experience and/ or interest in the aviation industry a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES DESIRED (include physical requirements of the job if applicable):
  • Be proficient in MS Office; Especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Must have effective customer relations and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work productively in team assignments
  • Must be engaged and be able to prioritize
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong relations with customers
  • Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel ~ 5% -10% of the time

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include physical requirements of the job if applicable):
  • Manage key accounts, overseeing quotations and order activity
  • Service and build strong relationships with both existing and new accounts
  • Answer sales calls and assist customers accordingly responding to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Keep customers informed on the statuses of their orders
  • Prepare paperwork and coordinate product delivery with the customer
  • Oversee critical customer logistics and troubleshoot any shipping issues in a timely manner
  • Meet with production teams regularly to stay abreast of all open order statuses
  • Troubleshoot issues with orders to ensure that a quality product is delivered to the customer
  • Maintain an up-to-date customer database by entering new contacts, shipping addresses, phone numbers and email addresses
  • Maintain an accurate filing and archiving system for all sales orders (past and present)

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and quote status reports
  • Attend selected industry trade shows and conferences throughout the US and staff the booth.
  • Participate in industry seminars, conferences, and speaker bureaus for the purpose of building brand awareness.
  • Be knowledgeable about the customers product and needs
  • Look for ways to grow existing accounts
  • Keep up to date with product and industry knowledge
  • Develop and maintain communication in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers by communicating openly, honestly and constructively; treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy; taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems.
