P1 Service, LLC., is seeking an Electrical Account Manager (Project Manager) for the Kansas City Metro KS/MO Area, based in our Lenexa, KS office, in our Service Projects Department.

Summary:

The person to take on this challenge must possess a unique skill set: customer-centric, strategic thinker, creative problem solver, consultative and persistent, and a person of action. This professional is responsible for proactively and reactively responding to the needs of the P1 customer base, as well as searching out new opportunities that fit P1’s extensive capabilities. The candidate must have shown the ability to question strategically, qualify successfully, estimate accurately, and perform on time and on budget. This person must also possess the ability to work with teams from the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and millwright groups of P1. Maintaining accountability through accurate reporting within the P1 CRM will be a requirement.

Position requirements/Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • One of the following: Bachelor’s Degree in a construction or electrical engineering related discipline, or Electrical Apprentice Program or Electrical Trade School or equivalent combination of the above.
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum three years in a project manager role for Electrical (non-residential), directly overseeing this work and personnel. General contractors or managers overseeing electrical contractors do not meet this requirement.
  • Knowledge of Electrical distribution systems and electrical code is required and an understanding of best practices as it relates to HVAC & Mechanical installations is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Windows, Outlook.
  • Good written and oral communication in English.
  • Read and understand drawings, specifications, codes and schedules.
  • Good working knowledge of general mathematics and estimating skills.
  • Project management skills and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass motor vehicle record check. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a drug screen. Must be able to meet our company’s qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Duties:

  • Customer Relations: sustains a supportive working relationship with customers and prospects to include monitoring their satisfaction with P1’s performance. Promptly addresses concerns to assure resolution of problems and to maintain long-term positive relationships.
  • Project Management:
    • Works with vendors to select equipment and materials.
    • Procures project materials and equipment.
    • Conducts project start-up and turnover meetings with appropriate P1 staff to communicate the project bid documents, estimates, and contract documents.
    • Prepares and presents forecasts as part of the monthly profit review process to include, if necessary, corrective action to resolve problems and restore quality, safety, productivity, and/or profitability.
    • Monitors the billing and collection process to ensure timely, accurate payments and collections.
  • Proposals: Performs customer site visits to determine needs and develop a scope of work that satisfies the owner’s project requirements. Identifies problems and proposes cost-effective solutions.
    • Surveys systems and understands prospect’s needs and problems. Interprets drawings, equipment, and job conditions.
    • Determines requirements to provide prospects with solutions to problems.
    • Develops engineered concepts and compares each to the project requirements to determine advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Coordinates with P1 technical/engineering support as needed.
    • Pricing: Estimates cost of proposed solutions and applies company pricing standards to the estimate.
    • Account Expansion: Understands customer cost to own, operate, and maintain facilities. Able to translate that understanding into proposals and sales that will enhance the customer while reducing long-term owning and operating costs.
    • Develops proposals and quotes. Presents proposal/quote to customer. Closes sales contracts.
