Oxford Airport Technical Services is currently seeking a Mechanic at the Honolulu International Airport.
The work of the Mechanic, depending upon assignment, and qualifications, includes any or all of the following: performs skilled work in those operations such as trouble shooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling,
installing, servicing, fabricating, and inspecting, required to maintain any building
component, plant equipment components, and/or automotive components.
The Mechanic may be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities. As may apply to any particular work assignment, will complete additional jobs as directed by management and will work according to Company policy and/or regulations. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):
Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on field work.
Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.
Exercises safe working practice at all times
Maintains superior customer service relations at ALL times
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma
Valid State Driver’s License
At least 18 years of age
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Overhead Door Experience
Must have knowledge of Conveyors / Baggage Belts
Must have experience with Facility / Building Maintenance
Ability to read and work from diagrams as required
Must possess minimum established Company tool requirements
Background check and drug screen required
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays and days off
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Must be able to work at heights of approximately 35 feet
Paint and body experience
Working knowledge of computers and equipment
Team player with strong verbal communication skills
Ability to solve problems under pressure
Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs
Pro-active attitude towards process improvement
Innovative, self-starter and pro-active
Decision making ability
Customer service oriented
Ability to carry out a variety of recurring technical activities.
All applicants considered must pass an FBI Clearance, Criminal Background Check, Medical/Drug Screen and 10 Year Employment Background Check.
