Oxford Airport Technical Services is currently seeking a Lead Field Service Technician at the Honolulu International Airport.
This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. The Lead Field Service Technician classification includes the following: troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, and inspecting required to maintain any overhead door, bi-fold hangar doors, baggage transport systems, HVAC systems, and related equipment and all their components.
The work of a Lead includes, in addition to the work specified for the appropriate
classification(s) which are directly led, any or all of the following: The maintenance
of a satisfactory quantity and quality of work by personnel assigned to her/his
leadership on a shift by such activities as explaining and demonstrating work
procedures and methods including safety, apportioning, and scheduling work
assigned to her/him for accomplishment, observing and analyzing the methods
used and the results achieved and bringing problems to supervisor’s attention.
Assists her/his supervisor in those phases of her/his duties, among others, which
involve the utilization of personnel, hours, tools, equipment, and materials; for
example, by suggesting and working out revisions in procedures with her/him; work
according to Company regulations and FAA regulations as applicable, and
procedures and instructions from supervisor. Completes forms connected with
work according to established procedures.
The Lead Field Service Technician may be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities may have other Mechanic personnel assigned to assist him or her in completing an assignment. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):
Certifies for quality of own workmanship.
Troubleshoots, disassembles, repair, replace, test, adjust, assemble, install, service, fabricate, and inspect required to maintain any overhead door, bi-fold hangar doors, baggage transport systems, HVAC systems, and related equipment and all their components.
Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.
Works according to FAA and Company regulations and procedures and instructions from Lead or supervisor.
Complies with site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of Oxford staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the whistleblower program.
Exercises safe working practice at all times.
Maintains superior customer service relations at ALL times.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma
Valid State Driver’s License
At least 18 years of age
Overhead Door Experience
Previous experience overseeing a team or managing a shop
Certification from a vocational technical school or college in electrical
Two (2) years on the journeyman level in a plant or field maintenance
The ability to successfully complete the Field Services Technician Qualification Test.
Background check and drug screen required
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays and days off
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Must be able to work at heights of approximately 35 feet
Team player with strong verbal communication skills
