Job Description

We are currently looking for a Billing Support Manager to join our Brooklyn team and help us take our growth to the next level.

The ideal candidate will have past experience leading and executing billing operations with key organizational and customer service skills. As an integral member of the Overpass team, you will proactively manage all payments associated with our platform and support the accurate and timely completion of payroll for contract employees in multi-state and multinational locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, standardize, and streamline billing and collection processes

  • Review and ensure accuracy of weekly invoices and payment summaries for clients and contractors

  • Streamline process for charging clients and paying contractors and interface with product development team towards automation

  • Find and organize data to support the defense to chargeback claims

  • Systematize responses to chargeback claims

  • Handle credit card declines with professionalism and efficiency

  • Review weekly and monthly credit card declines and proactively reach out to clients to update cards on file

  • Respond promptly to client and contractor billing concerns to ensure a high standard of customer service

  • Prepare weekly and monthly billing reports and distribute to stakeholders

  • Continuously dissect and find ways to optimize process and level of service that clients and contractors receive

  • Collaborate with product development teams to constantly push towards automating billing processes and adding more value to our clients around their billing needs

  • Reconciling weekly payouts to contractors with client receipts

  • Document all billing related systems and processes and ensure accessibility to necessary parties

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting

  • 1-2 years of experience interfacing with customers, preferably in a billing-related role

  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to find answers within data quickly and accurately

  • Experience with Excel and G-Suite products

  • Ability to identify problems and propose paths to solutions

  • Reconciliation experience a plus

  • Great work ethic and ability to follow through

  • Strong customer empathy and advocacy
