As Oura's Assistant Controller, you will help lead the accounting team as the company experiences rapid revenue growth. You will report to our US Controller. In this role, you will provide leadership and execution of core financial accounting processes, monthly/quarterly close, reconciling of accounts, as well as preparing accounting reports and facts in accordance with guidelines. This individual will have the opportunity to be a key player in shaping processes and controls. Candidates are expected to have a high aptitude and enthusiasm for conducting financial analysis; have demonstrated problem solving skills; and the ability to thrive in fast paced environments and work independently.

What you will do:

+ Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses

+ Lead all aspects of reporting and analysis of product costing, variances, and inventory

+ Support the general ledger and monthly financial close process through review of balance sheet account reconciliations and related journal entries for cost of revenue (COR), inventory in transit, warranty reserves, and inventory accounts

+ Responsible for the monthly closing process: maintain list of required journal entries; ensure completion and accuracy of journal entries; provide accurate and timely summaries; and oversee completion of all account reconciliations.

+ Maintain the general ledger and all financial records in accordance with US GAAP

+ Work closely with the Finance team on actual and forecast analysis

+ Perform thorough reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and appropriate documentation for external reporting and audit requirements

+ Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over all transactions and reporting

+ Support audit deliverables and help coordinate with auditors during the year-end audit

+ Develop the GL Accounting team, and support their growth and professional development

+ Prepare ad hoc assignments as requested


+ Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or economics

+ Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and CPA preferred

+ 8+ years related accounting and external reporting experience

+ Experience partnering with cross-organizational teams and developing cross-functional work streams

+ Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment

+ Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and current accounting practices

+ Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively in order to meet tight deadlines, working independently and under a multi-faceted team model

+ Strong people management and mentoring skills

+ Experience with NetSuite or other large financial systems

+ Experience with ecommerce, hardware and software business models a plus
