Role Summary
The HR Business Partner is accountable for the development & execution of business unit talent strategy for assigned business unit(s). Develops deep relationships with senior leaders within the business unit and a strong understanding of their business strategy. Translates this into talent strategy and develops key HR programs and initiatives within the business unit to support this effort. The HRBP works with HR Centers of Excellence and other HR partners to ensure execution of seamless delivery of global HR support across all programs and initiatives. Takes on responsibility for the leadership and execution of complex HR programs and processes within their business unit, partnering with others on these activities as appropriate. The role has a deep understanding of talent and OD practices, with a broad understanding of all HR disciplines. This role is a key partner to the business unit leadership team, providing consultative advice and coaching to leaders on all talent related activities. This HRBP role will partner with several segments within our distribution business unit.
Responsibilities
Develops and executes the talent strategy for assigned business units based on business strategy, experience, and data. Translates the talent strategy into key programs and initiatives within the business unit, ensuring strong integration and alignment of HR priorities to those of the business, as well as those of the broader HR organization.
Drives strong talent management practices within the business unit. Manages the overall portfolio of HR work within the business unit, works with Centers of Excellence and other partners in HR to ensure seamless delivery of global HR support across all programs and initiatives.
Prioritizes HR projects and initiatives within the BU to manage resources efficiently and ensure appropriate pacing and sequencing. Serves as a voice of the business unit into HR to ensure alignment of broader HR priorities to the needs of the business unit.
Executes complex projects, programs, or processes within a business unit, playing a lead or consulting role. Understands the needs of the business and key stakeholders to proactively anticipate needs to drive better business outcomes.
Provides guidance and direction to Centers of Excellence on business unit driven work to ensure full HR resources are being brought to bear on behalf of client group and to support effective delivery. Works with the Centers of Excellence to deliver HR solutions which are aligned to business needs.
Projects may include the execution of annual HR processes (compensation planning, talent reviews etc.) within the business unit, as well as leadership of highly complex projects such as organization changes, change management activities, DEI, associate engagement initiatives, and talent management activities.
Serves as a key partner to business unit leaders and business unit lead team members to proactively guide business unit people priorities and develop strategies to anticipate and address workforce challenges or issues. Provides coaching to leaders on talent priorities and needs. Provides coaching and direction within HR to maximize effectiveness, skill building, and BU consultation.
Typical Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND -10+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred
Strategic HR business partner experience in a fast-paced and changing organization
Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong overall business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp business issues and understand business strategy
Adept at working with management to influence/facilitate change, implement strategy and accomplish objectives
Interpersonal relations: particularly tact, sensitivity, professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
Excellent project management skills and experience with a drive for results
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
