Job Description

This position is with an IT Managed Services Provider in the Greater Boston area. Experience in an MSP company at a senior level is a big plus for the successful candidate.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for pre-sales solution design, post-sales project execution and break-fix support provided to client organizations in the Greater Boston area. Support provided by the candidate will be a combination of remote and on-site work. The ideal candidate will have sufficient technical knowledge to execute tasks outlined below as well as tasks similar in scope, will engage regularly in continuing education activities related to the job role, has the ability to listen and communicate solutions effectively to clients in a timely and respectful manner, will be able to effectively collaborate with their teammates in order to achieve customer service related goals, and will be able to sufficiently demonstrate possession of the qualifications listed in this job description. Some of the tasks included in the position’s scope of work include the following:

· Installation and configuration of computer workstations, printers, servers, and network equipment remotely and at customer sites

· Install, uninstall, and troubleshoot software on workstations and servers

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with computer software and hardware

· Review and troubleshoot logs and alerts generated for client workstation and server environments

· Apply operating system and application patches

· Manage and troubleshoot client cloud service platforms

· Draft accurate scope of work documents with time estimates for project proposals

· Execute client approved projects thoroughly and efficiently bringing them to a close on time and on budget

· Collaborate with account management and business development staff to follow up on leads and opportunities as needed

· Accurately document work performed including start and completion time

· Create and maintain KB articles for documentation of tasks and procedures

· Create and maintain documentation of client infrastructure

Technical Qualifications:

· Degree in a field related to information systems management or technology, or a minimum of 8+ years applied experience. IT service provider experience a plus.

· Working technical knowledge of the Windows operating systems and underlying technologies.

· Linux and Mac experience a plus

· Experience managing Active Directory/Azure Active Directory

· Experience managing Azure IaaS platform

· Experience managing Microsoft 365

· Experience managing virtualized server environments (VMware/Hyper-V)

· Experience managing virtualized workstation environments

· Experience managing enterprise networking infrastructure (routing, switching, VPN, deep packet inspection firewalls)

· Experience managing automation tools and platforms

· Experience using modern mobile and desktop management tools

· Experience using infrastructure monitoring tools and alerts

· Experience with compliance and regulatory audits

General Qualifications:

· Must be a United States citizen

· Must be able to handle complex technical problems and meet contracted service level goals

· Ability to diagnose, remedy and repair both hardware and software

· Demonstrate ability to work in a team or independently to complete projects

· Demonstrate ability to recommend applicable and appropriately sized solutions to business problems presented by customers

· Demonstrate ability to convert customer project requirements into an accurate scope of work

· Document work performed and time spent on tasks

· Ability to work and communicate professionally with customers and business associates

· Current driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required

· Must be neat and presentable
