The Role:

As Senior Wireless Systems Engineer at Ossia, you will be responsible for developing the software and hardware architecture design and algorithms of next-generation wireless power systems. This hands-on role requires broad knowledge of several areas in wireless systems design and engineering, including: requirements definition; interface definitions; distributed networking systems; algorithms; system performance modeling; and simulation. This highly technical position requires solid experience in relevant wireless product development (cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.) as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gather requirements, develop architecture, define algorithms, and lead development of the next-generation system-level design of wireless power software and hardware.
  • Define, simulate, model and troubleshoot various key system performance algorithms (e.g. phased array calibration, power scheduling, etc.) and parameters.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams on HW/RF/ME/FPGA/SW enabling technologies.
  • Develop system block diagrams and interfaces among main modules; create technical documentation including system-level specifications, theory of operation, and test requirements.
  • Fully understand system cost, scalability, reliability, testability, and power delivery efficiency tradeoffs.
  • Assist in the integration and test of the final system.
  • Act as a technical focal point for customers.

Requirements
  • Expert in wireless product development, RF systems, system architecture, algorithms, networks, embedded software systems, design for low cost, design for manufacturability and high reliability.
  • Ability to solve complex problems while displaying technical creativity.
  • Proven track record of taking one or more new wireless products (ideally consumer electronics) from initial concept, to prototype, and into mass production.
  • Demonstrated history of architecting, optimizing, and implementing algorithms, numerical methods, and signal-processing.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and collaborate with partners to deliver outstanding results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience, including system-level wireless design. This should include experience in designing system software and hardware architectures of moderate to high complexity in a product development environment.
  • Must have hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, with an ability to communicate clearly and present oneself in a professional and organized manner.

Education:
  • BS/MS (preferred) in one or more relevant engineering disciplines (Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Software Engineering).
