Director HR, Learning & Development

Reports to Chief HR Officer

Essential Responsibilities

· Primary responsibility focuses on enabling continued growth of business management and team capabilities across nimble, changing organization

· Differentiate functional needs across sales, development, manufacturing and distribution functions

· Manage, implement and recommend changes to training and development programs and related initiatives across the organization

· Direct and deliver learning, organizational development and leadership programs; demonstrate effective change leadership, providing increasing volume of consultation and expertise to business leaders on their personal and team development challenges

· Support HR leadership assessment of required organizational change initiatives to ensure resources are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction; ensure that organizational effectiveness and initiatives align with and support all business initiatives

· Implement internship, apprenticeship and in-house training programs to enhance specific manufacturing/technical skills sets; continually evaluate and refine (focusing on manufacturing) training programs and related initiatives to reflect changing conditions and to ensure ongoing effectiveness

· Implement performance management activities, advocating ongoing reviews, coaching and effective feedback for leaders and people managers

· Collect, refine and report metrics on performance reviews, including managerial skill to complete effectively; recommend improvements in programming and delivery

· Anticipate and plan for emerging organizational needs and requirements relative to human capital; deploy progressive talent search methodologies and networking capabilities with recruiter

· Maintain and report on metrics to determine sustainability and effectiveness of change initiatives

· Complete and continuously improve on organizational assessments using a variety of proven methods

· Accurately assesses cultural attributes, exhibiting emotional intelligence and appropriate sensitivity while maintaining individuality and authenticity

· Lead three direct reports in recruiting, employee relations and data analysis

· Develop innovative and actionable solutions to support the delivery of HR excellence

· Carry forward general HR responsibilities to ensure effectiveness of full HR team

Experience

· Training and development in a manufacturing organization, preferably a high-speed, high-volume Consumer Packaged Goods organization

· Program development to meet specific plant-level supervisory needs, and

· Excellent computer and presentation skills

· 5- 10 years of previous work experience consulting to complex organizations across a range of industries

· 5-10 years of previous work experience coaching business leadership

· Experience in facilitation of programs in difficult (Fierce) conversations preferred

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior, psychology, sociology or related field required

· Master's degree in organizational development, organizational behavior or related field preferred
