Accounts Payable Specialist

Oslin Nation Co. has a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable (AP/AR) Specialist. The company is a Manufacturer’s Representative that serves the mechanical (hydronic) and plumbing contractors in the commercial, institutional, and industrial markets in Texas. 

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for accurate payment to various vendors according to agreed-upon terms while taking advantage of available discounts for timely payment.  This will require excellent organizational skills and consistent follow-through.  This will encompass a wide variety of duties, which will require someone capable of taking on several projects simultaneously while being able to prioritize and remain focused.  Successful candidates will have a strong background in accounts payable processes.

Job Details:

• Vouching vendor invoices
• Perform weekly check runs, ensuring prompt payment discounts are taken advantage of
• Reconciling vendor statements to ensure accuracy
• Soft follow-up with customers for past due invoices
• Monitoring sales orders for credit and compliance
• Performing and maintaining GL account reconciliations
• Cross train with other accounting functions to help provide coverage
• Other duties as assigned within the accounting department

Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel and Outlook
• High levels of analytical skills and sound reasoning
• Courteous and effective communication via phone and email
• Organized, detail oriented, with exceptional follow through on open issues
• Some formal training in accounting or similar highly preferred
• Highly self-motivated and dependable, at work on time, consistently
• Ability to proactively develop effective solutions to problems
• Ability to function effectively in a small team with high standards of accuracy and performance

Hours: M-F 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
