Job Description
POSITION: Senior Accountant

LOCATION: Hybrid schedule; Wilsonville, OR

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

PAY: Competitive Compensation, D.O.E. + quarterly/annual performance bonuses based on branch/company performance

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to work under the supervision of our Accounting Manager to perform day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and preparation of basic financial reports. Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited about working with a small team and has a high level of integrity and solid understanding of accounting principles. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule
  • Analyze complex financial reports and records
  • Reconcile and review expenses at the end of the month and prepare analysis of variances
  • Verify proper general ledger accounting through account analysis and reconciliation
  • Prepare accurate journal entries for input into the general ledger
  • Assist in maintaining the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules using BNA Software
  • Respond to information requests from branch offices and/or Corporate management
  • Coordinate annual audits through collection of information on general ledger accounts
  • Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team, as well as other departments
  • Maintain the general ledger and other data sources for accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze current procedures to recommend changes and develop and implement accounting procedures
  • Document and monitor internal controls in support of the auditing team

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 years of general accounting experience; or any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and superior analytical skills
  • Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software packages
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program
  • Advanced degree (preferred but not required)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and the ability to write simple SQL queries (preferred but not required)
