Options Employment and Educational Services is hiring part and full time teachers and job coaches / vocational counselors.

Options is a small Approved Private Spec Ed Program located in a large renovated home in the historic West End of Hartford. Options provides individualized services to students in grade 6-12 and for transition years to age 22. By design, students our taught specifically to their educational profile and make great strides due to the uplifting and individualized nature of our program. Options is a very safe environment and students enjoy being in school.

Students typically work half the day with their own certified teachers and half the day with their vocational counselor.

We currently employ retired certified teachers and new or established teachers who decided not to return to the public school setting.

Teachers responsibilities include;

• Individualized instructing.
• Collaborating with the Options team in developing goals and objectives specific to the student.
• Monitoring students’ progress
• Enjoying the students

Teachers may choose to also fill Options Vocational Counselors / Job Coaches responsibilities, which include;

Mentoring students in the community and facilitate their participation in areas of their interests.

• Develop and maintain working relationships with community job sites.
• Train students in the social and technical aspects of particular jobs sites.
• Teach IL skills
• Driving student transportation vehicles
• Enjoying the students.
