Optima is currently seeking a Director of Finance to perform various duties to ensure we run at optimal efficiency.

Director of Finance Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable
    • Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy
    • Review outstanding invoices
    • Approve payments to vendors
    • Monitor credit card activity for unusual purchases and fraudulent activity
  • Purchasing
    • Assess and revise procurement processes
    • Negotiate and authorize vendor agreements and contracts
    • Monitor outstanding purchasing requests
    • Approve non-standard purchases
    • Oversee equipment request and capital expenditures
    • Identify cost-savings opportunities
  • Payroll
    • Review biweekly payroll for accuracy and correct as needed
    • Research payroll discrepancies
    • Oversee 401K compliance and required audits
    • Identify and resolve payroll compliance issues
    • Oversees workers compensation audit
    • Ensures reimbursement compliance
  • Accounting
    • Maintains chart of accounts
    • Review accounting entries for discrepancies
    • Oversee and assist with monthly financial close process
    • Reviews and corrects balance sheet
    • Produces monthly financial statements
    • Performs technical accounting research as needed
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Produces monthly variance reports
    • Prepares service line and location analyses
    • Creates forecasts and projections
  • Banking
    • Monitor cash account balances
    • Initiates ACH and wire transfers
    • Submits mortgage and refinance applications
    • Secures financing for equipment and acquisitions
    • Oversees debt payments and lender requirements
  • Other
    • Organizes relevant documents and information for auditors
    • Maintain necessary insurance for companies and properties
    • Prepares year-end tax information and coordinates with tax accountant



  • Ensure GAAP compliance of financial records
  • Continuously monitor and improve cost containment


Director of Finance Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required; CPA license preferred.
  • 3 years audit experience and 5 years Accounting/Finance experience desired.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience. 
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Quickbooks preferred. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
