Job Description

Position Overview: The Clinical Specialist has the primary responsibility of providing oversight, planning

and support of the clinical operations for the Behavioral Health Pittsburgh Division for Open Systems

Healthcares (OSH), ensuring ongoing quality of care for clients. This role provides clinical support and

advising to the Behavioral Health Pittsburgh office, throughout all aspects of its operation, as well as

recruitment, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop, create, review, and provide feedback on Individual Support Plans (ISP), skill building

plans, GAS charts, ISP goals/objectives and progress notes for compliance and ongoing clinical

oversight.

Complete quarterly progress notes and submit to Support Coordination Organizations.

Review daily progress notes for service compliance and address and resolve any issues with

compliance at the branch level.

Provide clinical support to branch team by attending Opens, ISP meetings, home visits w/

CSRs/AEs, and providing clinical insight into day-to-day branch office activities.

Complete plan development for all Systematic Skill Building cases and manage the ongoing

support services

Conduct clinical orientation, direct supervision, and training with DSPs (Direct Support

Professional) and SBS (Skill Building Specialists) at hire and throughout employment in

collaboration with the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services.

Maintain industry knowledge and actively engage in learning activities.

Actively and collaboratively incorporate knowledge gained into the workings of the Behavioral

Health office.

Serve as liaison and manage new and current cases within Western PA for AAW/ODP cases

Develop and maintain relationships with DSP, parents, community members, SCs etc.

Help with staffing and emergency situations, incident management and compliance as needed

Partner with local agencies, support coordination organizations and communities to provide a

seamless integration of services for consumers and their families.

Provide clinical guidance to the Behavioral Health Office and Staff pertaining to standard business

activities (including but not limited to grievances, investigations, incidents, analysis of Customer

Service Surveys, etc.), to guarantee action taken is well informed.

Conduct 10% quarterly audit of all BH Pitt progress notes to ensure compliance.

Works closely with Clinical Director to ensure compliance and overall standard level of care

Performs all other duties as required and assigned by OSH representative.

Follows Open Systems Healthcares Policies and Procedures.

Follows Federal, State, and local rules and regulations pertaining to home care services

Requirements

Meet the Systematic Skill Building Qualifications:

Systematic Skill Building

At least a Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Social

Work, Psychology or Education; OR

At least a BA/BS in human services field

related to Social Work, Psychology or

Education

  • Complete required training developed by BSASP for Specialized Skill Building services for people
  • with autism spectrum disorders.

  • Complete standard ODP required orientation and annual training
  • Minimum 2 years experience in human services, social work, psychology or related field.

    Must have a reliable form of transportation.

    Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at consumer sites.

    Amount of travel may fluctuate dependent upon need; 50% + travel possible.

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel

    may be expected.

    Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include light moving and extensive selfpositioning.
