OneTogether Solutions is looking for a Clinic Medical Director to serve at Revive Pathway, a clinic we manage, in El Cajon, CA.  This clinic is currently under construction and is expected to open late Spring 2023.  We are hoping to fill this position as soon as possible with a projected start date early Spring 2023.


Revive Pathway is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility for the treatment of adults with opioid use disorder. We are currently seeking a Clinic Medical Director to support our clinic in El Cajon, CA. This position, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company.

 

Position Overview:

 

As Clinic Medical Director of Revive Pathway, you will lead an engaged team in the fight against the opioid crisis. We are committed to hiring dedicated, versatile team players to staff this clinic, and you will guide them through daily challenges and triumphs--and toward our greater goals of saving lives and healing our community. Revive Pathway is founded on a patient-centered model of timely, individualized care. Staff members are expected to cross-train to make each day a success and to function as a cohesive unit. As Clinic Medical Director, you will help oversee this training and make sure that our team remains a family that supports one another.

 

Training in addiction medicine and management experience in a health care setting are necessary for this position, as well as the licensure and insurance requirements listed below. Primary Duties:

 

  • Reports directly to Chief Medical Officer.
  • Works collaboratively with Clinic Director, NP/PA and medical staff positions.
  • Provide physical examinations for patients and/or review patients’ history in determining medical necessity.
  • Draw blood and perform EKG's or other laboratory procedures as needed.
  • Supervise all admission to treatment, discharges from treatment, medication orders, and adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Initiate, alter and terminate medication orders for the treatment of opioid use disorder following strict protocols.
  • Place patients into treatment.
  • Follow clinical and research protocols.
  • Collect data and complete paperwork required by clinical and research protocols.
  • Supervise, monitor, and direct activities of mid-level practitioners (PA, NP or equivalent).
  • Ensure that mid-level practitioners are operating within clinical and research protocols.
  • Co-ordinate with counseling and administrative staff to ensure that clinical and research activities are carried out with the highest level of quality and completeness.
  • Provide occasional consultation by telemedicine.
  • Communicate with outside physicians providing primary medical care to Revive Pathway patients to facilitate continuity of care with appropriate waivers compliant with 42 CFR part B regulations.
  • Meet the approval of Federal & state guidelines as well as current medical literature for patient care.
  • Ensure that examination results meet Federal and state guidelines.
  • Supervise the administration and dispensing of medications.
  • Serve as a clinic in-service resource.
  • Provide patient education specific to various disease processes within our scope of practice.
  • Oversee the continuum of care process for patients.
  • Refer patients for care elsewhere when indicated (including appropriate follow up).
  • Maintain strict patient, employee, company, and computer confidentiality.
  • Plan and supervise provision of treatment for patients (including regular review and notes in the patient’s record) according to established CSAT and state guidelines with a strong emphasis on quality & customer service.
  • Sign patient record notes.
  • Oversee patient care provided by other medical staff members, sign charts, review dosing levels, etc.
  • Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and document health history.
  • Promote effective working relationships and works effectively as part of the Revive Pathway team to facilitate the meeting of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for following all organizational precautions and procedures in the performance of all duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Maintain credentials as required by certifying/licensing body. Participate in professional development and in-service programs as required by position.
  • Promote an environment that encourages staff growth and development by developing and supporting ongoing educational programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Shall continue establishing, reviewing, and maintaining medical policies and procedures, which shall be reviewed at least annually and revised as necessary.
  • Shall continue assuring the quality of medical services given to all patients treated by the clinic; approving all patients admitted to the clinic; and assuring that the physician has assumed medical responsibility for all patients treated by the clinic.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Have a current, unrestricted license to practice in the California or any state.
  • Have a current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license.
  • No pending legal inquiries or license probation.
  • Willingness to follow Revive Pathway personnel policies.
  • Willingness to see, treat and be sympathetic towards substance use disorder patients.
  • Preferred: Board certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
  • Supervise physicians as needed.
  • Hold DEA X-waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.
  • Ability to provide health and TB clearance.

In addition, the Clinic Medical Director must demonstrate knowledge of:

 

  • Medications to treat opioid use disorder.
  • Human behavior and abnormal psychology.
  • Signs and symptoms of substance use
  • Behavior modification, treatment plans, crisis interventions, individual and group therapy, case management, and patient education.
  • Current standards, policies and procedures of regulatory bodies, state law, contractual agreements, and professional standards.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of Revive Pathway’s internal and external patient needs and be committed to meeting or exceeding those expectations.
