As a converging point person for people, process, and technology, the Regional Clinical Informatics Manager has a leadership role in Transforming Clinical Care, maximizing the benefits of information systems while coordinating the regional clinical informatics for assigned facilities.

Clinical Informatics Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of Clinical system analysts and informatics specialists to optimize, standardize and reduce variation in workflow throughout the organization and maximize the use of the electronic health record and other information systems

  • Manage and allocate resources for project requests and service desk ticket requests ensuring high customer satisfaction and efficient use of the systems

  • Communicate with management regarding concerns and issues surrounding the use of the EMR that affect Meaningful Use, HIPAA, or other compliance or governmental incentive programs

  • Coordinating with Clinical and Operations management to identify goals and scope of clinical projects

  • Read current literature, talk with colleagues, and participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the healthcare industry

  • Communicate with facility Clinical Informatics Leads to coordinate enterprise-wide system activities

Clinical Informatics Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical discipline, Computer Science or Healthcare related field or acquired through a combination of education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Clinical discipline, Computer Science or Healthcare related field is preferred

  • EPIC Beaker experience is preferred

  • Understanding of IT application, infrastructure, and security requirements

  • Superior analytical, oral/written communication, problem-solving and PC skills (including Excel, pivot tables) are essential
