Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Omics Data Automation (ODA) delivers a distributed framework for integrating genomic information with imaging, pathology and clinical history to inform treatment options in cancer care and the expanding range of precision medicine. We work with hospital networks and medical centers to provide a scalable approach for large data storage and analysis.

Description

ODA is looking for a Senior DevOps engineer to develop tools and infrastructure to deploy, test, monitor and manage applications within ODA and customer cloud environments. The engineer will be responsible for the automation of ODA's current and future CI/CD pipelines in order to enable us to ship quality code with improved velocity. The engineer will work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based or on-prem solutions for customers. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively and is energized by breaking down complex challenges with technical teams to achieve superior results on time and within budget constraints.

Requirements

Technical

At least 5 years of experience in a Senior DevOps/Automation engineering role or as a system engineer with strong programming/scripting skills.

• Expertise with CI/CD tools and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps\TFS, Git, Nexus/Artifactory).
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Demonstrated experience with and understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
• Strong scripting/programming skills with at least one of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with resource configuration/provisioning tools (Terraform, Ansible, Azure Templates).
• Experience with logging/monitoring technologies, such as ELK, Opensearch, Prometheus, DataDog, etc.
• Good understanding of infrastructure related components and protocols: Active Directory, OIDC/OAuth2.0, DNS, TCP\IP, Load balancing, PKI, Firewalls and routing.
• Experience with the following Cloud services: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure AD, Azure SQL Managed databases, Key Vault (Preferred).
• Familiarity with HIPAA security compliance requirements (Preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and closely with the team.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps/Automation Engineering role or as a Systems Engineer with strong programming/scripting skills (May consider candidates with more experience for a DevOps Team Lead role).
• 2+ years of experience working in at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerization technology.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical discipline
