Job Title: Final Assembler-Tier OneDepartment: Final Assembly
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $15.09-$16.97

Demonstrate proficiency of final assembly knowledge thru application across the Oliver machine families. Conduct a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit function according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Retain the knowledge and skills to teach and mentor other team members all aspects of assembled components of Oliver machines and parts. Maintain timely, consistent, and accurate performance and continue to expand proficiency, skills, and knowledge in assembling Oliver machines. Demonstrate willingness to assist other team members within and across departments when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Use tape measure and various measuring tools to accurately mark work pieces and produce to specification.
• Identify and gather the necessary tools and parts for the job.
• Clean and weld various parts as needed for the task.
• Identify and recognize different parts and components of the machines.
• Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
• Compare results with specifications and record test data.
• Replace defective wiring and components and/or record defects on tag attached to unit and returns unit to production department for repair.
• Verify dimensions of pins, shafts, and other mechanical parts.
• Verify internal assembly and alignment of parts according to specifications.
• Properly perform final inspection prior to shipment of goods to customer.
• Use various hand tools needed to fabricate, weld, and assemble parts.
• Receive and follow detailed instructions; written, verbally, through blueprints, travelers, or other methods to work independently on jobs.
• Properly connect regulator valves and hoses to fuel gas cylinders.
• Examine welds, penetration, and other specifications to ensure performance to specifications.
• Construct and fasten various parts of industrial machine equipment to specification.
• Assemble, troubleshoot, weld, inspect and test to ensure safety and quality.
• Properly complete tasks in accordance with engineering, quality, and production standards.
• Properly and safely clean and remove grease, dirt, and metal from parts or product.
• Properly build skids or shipping containers for parts or machines.
• Proper and safe operation of Forklift.
• Proper understanding and use of the Kanban system.

Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age.

• Verbal, written, and other communication skills with proven ability to communicate with team members.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Competent application of mathematical skills related to units of measure
• Knowledge and understanding of equipment used in manufacturing; cranes, hoists, hand tools.

• Leadership and professionalism

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Current Driver's License or State Issued I.D. Card
• Forklift Certification (onsite training)

Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of standing, crouching, kneeling, and walking, in factory.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. at times.
• Manual dexterity to evaluate, manipulate, and modify parts and equipment.
• Employee must be able to pass a respiratory test.   

Work Environment
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Moderate noise environment. 
• This position may require some intermittent travel.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
