Mammography Technologist

OKCIC is hiring for a Mammography Technologist who will perform examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in American Indian women. The Mammography Technologist will perform screening exams only, all diagnostic exams are referred out. This position will be working very closely with our Breast Care Case Manager. The ideal candidate would be a self starter, who functions well in an ever-changing, fast paced environment and pays excellent attention to detail regarding updated or new regulations. This position will be required to work as a multidisciplinary care coordinator and work with our external partners. Candidate must be able to work with a range of positions including: Physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative personnel.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts screening mammography exams

  • Ensures quality of exams by selecting correct exposure factors

  • Makes adjustments before, after and during the exam according to the nature of the test, patient anatomy and other specifications of the exam

  • Assists staff in the maintenance of records and files

  • Requests records as needed

  • May schedule appointments including sending reminder and no show letters

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of AS in radiography

  • Must hold R.T.(R)(M) with ARRT

  • Must have 3-5 years of current mammography experience

  • EHR/RPMS experience preferred, MS-DOS systems are easily transitioned to EHR/RPMS

  • Experience with Bone Density (DEXA) scans a plus

  • Candidate with experience building a Mammography program from the ground up or working a brand new program would be a plus

  • Dual Modalities would be preferred

  • Must have good knowledge and understanding of MQSA and ACR
