What You Should Know About the Facilities Specialist Role:
  • This is a full time position serving our Hospice of Dayton facility.
  • Schedule will include first shift hours.

The Facilities Specialist Essential Duties Are:
  • Answers incoming emails or calls concerning facility needs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Executes regular maintenance plans for physical plants and equipment.
  • Maintains a well-organized inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
  • Monitors fulfillment of service contracts for equipment.
  • Participates in periodic deep cleaning projects at each physical plant.
  • Plans and performs basic building repairs, miscellaneous jobs and handyman work as needed.
  • Inspects and maintains the exterior premises (grounds, building and parking), including removal of debris, snow and ice.
  • Ensures all work orders and repair requests are processed in a timely fashion.
  • Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Submits recommendations for final evaluation and implementation plan.
  • Assists in fire and disaster drills as necessary to insure 100% compliance and the safety needs of patients, families and the staff.
  • Assists in other activities and departments when requested including after hours, on call and any other times.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to support the quality of Ohio's Hospice services.
  • Precepts new staff to support professional relationships with newly hired team members as required.

Facility Specialists Qualifications:
  • General education degree (GED) or High school diploma.
  • At least one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Computer skills sufficient to properly communicate and document daily tasks.
  • Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
  • State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
