Job Description

What You Should Know About the Administrative Assistant Role:

  • This is a Part-Time position serving the Newark office
  • Schedule will be Monday-Friday with the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm. 24 hours per week.

Administrative Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and document compliance with required education, training, and regulations for all volunteers.
  • Coordinate the annual volunteer performance evaluation process.
  • Establish, maintain and manage individual volunteer files and records, both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Attend and actively participate in Volunteer Services department meetings.
  • Participate in at least one professional develop event each year.
  • Demonstrate behavior which reflects the mission and values of Hospice of Central Ohio.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and agency information.
  • Maintain regular work attendance.
  • Demonstrates professionalism by awareness of dress and language.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and standards.
  • Treat all persons with respect regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or gender.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 2-years administrative support or similar experience. Prefer related associate degree.
  • Ability to organize and complete detailed tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrates efficient workflow and follow through skills.
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective rapport and professional relationships with paid and unpaid staff.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • State Minimum Auto Coverage
  • Competency in information technology: navigating Windows, Word, e-mail, social media, and other programs which may assist with communication in the organization. Ability to learn new and use new software programs.
