Title: LINGUISTIC ANALYST Location: Ogilvy Health - Parsippany, NJ ROLE OVERVIEW The Linguistic Analyst participates in healthcare-focused research projects conducted by the Ogilvy Health Research and Intelligence team. This includes contributing to analysis and presentation of impactful insights. RESPONSIBILITIES: Gather, analyze, and synthesize raw primary research data to generate and concisely articulate (verbally and in written presentations) relevant insights, strategic implications, and actionable recommendations Apply computational linguistic methods and tools to analyze lexicon used in medical literature to identify language patterns and interpret the significance of those patterns in the context of the medical category and brand strategy to provide recommendations on the ideal nomenclature to describe the clinical story of a brand or disease Create social media monitors using Boolean expressions and analyze dynamic real-time social media data and conversations to identify topics, trends, language, and interests in a disease state or treatment category Apply computational linguistic methods and tools to analyze naturally-occurring language used by patients, caregivers, and consumers online to identify ideal words and phrases to tell the story of the brand or disease state Apply sociolinguistic methods to analyze transcripts of actual physician-patient visit communication and post-visit interviews to assess alignment and understanding and to identify gaps, treatment decision triggers, and unmet needs Apply ethnographic methods to analyze the lived experiences of patients, including unmet needs, quality of life impacts, and barriers to treatment Work collaboratively with other team members, as well as internal and external partners, to create PowerPoint reports/presentations and/or other deliverables for client meetings based on research findings and marketing/educational implications Participate in internal and client meetings, including kick-off meetings, analytic discussions, and presentations Present research findings and implications during internal and client meetings Collaborate with research vendors, consultants, and external experts leveraged for research projects, as appropriate, ensuring that deliverables are within specifications and budget Become familiar with all research capabilities, be able to offer suggestions to teams about what can and should be done to meet research needs, and be able to discuss value of linguistic analyses for recommended efforts Become expert user of social listening tools, such as Crimson Hexagon (training will be provided) Assist in writing research instruments, including the development of documents to be submitted to an Institutional Review Board (training will be provided) Assist with editing primary publications and posters based on primary research Review video footage to enroll participants into studies based on customized criteria Gather, analyze, and synthesize secondary research data to identify relevant strategic insights and implications, as appropriate (training will be provided) Address questions and requests by using syndicated tools, databases, and reports Conduct trend reporting, assessing the current landscape of a brand, indication, audience, or company by reviewing diverse sources of news and intelligence to identify issues, uncover areas of importance, or identify white spaces Conduct creative audits and landscape audits, providing a holistic understanding of a brand, disease state, or company's creative and messaging environment and how it compares to the landscape Create customer profiles, providing insight into the opinions, behaviors, media preferences, and channel access of customers, both physicians and patients Assist with pitch research, as appropriate, including attending meetings, preparing specifications and obtaining cost quotes from vendors, supervising vendors while projects (e.g.
