Accounting Finance Professional

Required Knowledge & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and/or CPA highly preferred

6+ years of hands-on experience in high growth start up.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting for both D2C and B2B

Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

High degree of attention to details and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to inspire, motivate and mentor the accounting team

Ability to present financial results to founder and provide and answer questions

Experience in system implementation and process efficiency

Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modeling

Proficiency with MS Office Suite, QuickBooks, FishBowl highly preferred

Accounting Task

Manage month-end processes to ensure accurate and timely month end, quarter end and year end close

Maintain accurate and complete balance sheet reconciliation; review, reconcile and explain movements for key accounts

Ensure financial information is reviewed to identify any issues that would impact the accuracy and reliability of the financial information presented

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting package; this includes comparative BS, P&L, CF, actual vs budget variance analysis, P&L by key accounts and top 10 products

Oversee all tax filings: Corporate tax returns, franchise, state, and city taxes, etc.

Oversee the accounting systems and infrastructure to scale with business growth and drive controls, efficiency, and accuracy of all financial reporting processes

Drive efficiency through process improvement, automation, and accounting system enhancements

Financial Planning and Analysis

Lead and coordinate the overall budgeting and financial analysis activities of the company

Ability to extract and assemble large volumes of data and inputs, and to organize for strategic decision making

Comfortable with maintaining complex financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and recommendations

Maintain and improve company’s reporting models and processes used to analyze company’s financial results.

Provide management with insights into drivers of revenue and expenses, risks and opportunities

Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results to identify trends and explain variances in revenues, margins, expenses, capital spend and cash flows at a granular level
