The Role: We are looking to add a Junior Buyer to the Supply Chain team, the main functions of this position are the purchase of supplies in accordance with the objectives of the company, the handling of administrative and operational tasks, purchase requests in compliance with program supply chain plans and other procurement requirements. Ensures timely and accurate placement of purchase orders.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for acquisitions for Maintenance, Repair & Operating Supplies (MRO) and Indirect Material.
  • Manage complete material procurement process (negotiating, purchasing, delivery, receiving and invoice processing).
  • Generate and manage purchase orders using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and vendor portal.
  • Negotiate acquisitions terms and maintain communication and relationship with vendors.
  • Follow up orders placed, provide update and negotiate delivery dates and lead times.
  • Collaborate on the resolution of obstacles to meet schedules, including, but not limited to, issues with non-conforming material, unclear specifications, or vendor capacity constraints in participation with cross functional teams.
  • Update inventory requirements as need it.
  • Work in tandem with warehouse to ensure the proper receiving process for supplies and/or materials.
  • Follow and execute the established plans to ensure cost control and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Other duties will be assigned, as necessary.

Requirement, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business administration or related field - Preferred
  • 2 to 4 years or more experience in Pharmaceuticals, industrial or related fields – Preferred
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office is a must
  • Knowledge in ERP Systems is a must
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Teamwork and detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and do problem solving
  • Negotiation skills.

  • Stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time Sedentary work Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
