innovationOchsner (iO) is looking for a UX/CX Researcher/Designer to join its entrepreneurial, multi-disciplinary and mission-focused team that is shaping the future of healthcare. iO is an innovation lab within Ochsner Health System, Louisiana's largest not-for-profit health system. iO's mission is to reimagine and revolutionize the delivery and experience of healthcare and dramatically improve health outcomes using technology, data and new thinking, with a focus on digital health, advanced analytics and precision medicine. Its work includes the O Bar, Digital Medicine, Optimal Hospital and Connected MOM, and has been recognized as models by the ONC, Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School, and Apple, among others.
This position will focus on developing a deep understanding of our users, consumers and patients. In this role, you will create understanding and empathy around consumer and user motivations, behaviors and needs, both stated and unstated. You will do this for physicians, clinicians, product architects, engineers, programmers and other team members seeking to design and implement solutions to improve the user experience. You will do so by conducting primary research, exploring the behaviors and motivations of our consumers and other users through methods including field visits, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and log file analysis, and then by delivering tangible and timely findings and prioritized recommendations to stakeholders. Your research will help us create useful, usable, and delightful new products, solutions and features for consumers and users, as well as continually innovating on our existing offerings.
Required - Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction/Computer Science, Social Science or other related fields, or equivalent practical experience
Required - 2 years conducting user experience research and/or market research including experience integrating user research into product design, experience with survey design and working with statistics, experimental design and large data sets, and integrating user research into product design.
Preferred - 4 years conducting user experience research and/or market research
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Demonstrated understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
- Ability to convey complex data in an accessible and meaningful way to diverse audiences.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role.
- Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products, solutions and features.
- Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing).
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
- Present research findings and make prioritized recommendations through written reports and presentations.
- Other related duties as required.
