Position Description:

The Business Development Senior Director will develop, oversee and execute strategies and plans for specific opportunities/pursuits and is accountable to win new business. Activities include developing strategies, opportunity research, competitive intelligence analysis, teaming, solution (technical, management, price) development. Accurately/objectively develops and validates facts with analysis and presents the opportunity business case at management gate reviews to facilitate business decisions by management.

Candidates at this level will develop value propositions through program strategies, supporting business cases and project plans and develop early win strategies and evolve the strategy throughout the Capture lifecycle. They will develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, assess win probability, develop win plans/strategies, address gap analysis and competitive analysis in order to respond to and win business.

This position requires the ability to lead customer call plan development, teaming and negotiation skills, financial business case development, formal presentation and oral communications. Qualified candidates must be able to determine value added discriminators and thrive in a competitive win environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop value propositions, support business cases and project plans and develop early win strategies.
  • Develop, organize and execute significant capture activities.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of call plans.
  • Assist with the gathering, assessment and validation of customer requirements, identifying gaps and emerging requirements
  • Communicate resource needs and leverage resources assigned, collaborating with subject and technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers.
  • Interact routinely with all levels of Division, CTO Organization, Sales Operation, Corporate Functional Leads (Finance, Contract, HR, etc...) and follow through on tasking.
  • Brief capture status to senior management at specified milestones in the capture process at gate reviews.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current security clearance or eligibility to obtain a clearance
  • Minimum 10 years of sales/capture management experience
  • Experience with capturing solutions based opportunities of significant size, complexity of scope, and/or a unique/complex business model
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and successfully evaluate and qualify opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills are required, as you will research, analyze, and compare market data to company competencies
  • Strong project Management and communication (both written and verbal) skills, along with the ability to delivery outstanding customer service
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
