The Instructor/Operator (I/O) shall provide support of mission support services that develop and use advanced learning technologies and methodologies to improve medical education and training for healthcare teams and patients for the purpose of improving healthcare options.
This opportunity is available contingent upon contract award.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that training courses address all levels of students.
- Provide training services for the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC), which plans and carries out instruction and validation in accordance with accepted medical practices and established military medical and operational doctrine.
- Utilize approved simulation scenarios included in the course POI or as approved by US Army MEDCoE and ensure that the medical simulation scenarios are designed to be as realistic as possible (i.e., moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate the injuries and environment that the military medic or first responder may confront during various operational echelons and or theatres)
- Assess students’ critical thinking skills and psychomotor skills based on their ability to perform under high-fidelity situations.
- Provide support for military assets located at various military installations worldwide.
- Deliver effective medical training with a standardized training platform; prepare trainees for application of medical interventions under combat conditions
- Provide medical training and education on new battlefield procedures and equipment.
- Instruct, demonstrate skills and test Soldiers in all areas of the 68W Sustainment, EMT, and NREMT Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) level in support of EMT Sustainment Course, as well as CLS courses. I/O must meet the minimum Instructor qualifications for the course they instruct.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess and maintain National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) with a level of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher.
- I/O shall comply with one of the following requirements:
- A former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Advanced Leader Course (ALC) graduate).
- A former Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman E-6 or above.
- A former Air Force 4NOX1, or an Aerospace Medical Service (4NOX1) E-6 or above.
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant or Physician.
- Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (via American Red Cross/other accredited certifying agency equivalents)
- NREMT Certified and current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Training Circular (TC) 8-800, Medical Education and Demonstration of Individual Competence (MEDIC) – completed annually
- Comply with BLS Instructor certification requirement.
- Certifications highly preferred: NREMT Certified and current National Registered Paramedic (NRP), BLS Instruction certification, or Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor certification
- Familiar with computers; possess basic Microsoft Office suite skills.
- U.S. citizen, ability to obtain Contractor CAC.
- Secret Security clearance preferred.
- Capable of instructing a mixed population of Soldiers, both inexperienced and seasoned.
- Ability to conduct training in classroom or a field training/evaluation environment.
Team Lead- To be considered for the Team Lead position you must meet all above minimum requirements and possess a minimum of 10 years work experience within the applicable medical scope
