Job Summary:

The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organization's research, development, and production implementation efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitates internal and external communication between clients, chemists, and business development


  • Manages a defined portfolio of projects from initiation stages in R&D to closing at manufacture
  • Works in a collaborative team environment with scientists, business development, management, and project sponsors
  • Facilitate a collaborative platform for scientists to develop technology for biopharma clients to bring their discoveries to clinical trials
  • Develops and maintains client timelines with project goals, scope, resources, and milestones in mind
  • Build and maintain a positive and long-lasting relationship with the clients


  • Oversees communication with the client, weekly updates and reports, meeting minutes, and keeps an up-to-date timeline, identifying and removing roadblocks
  • Serves as the primary point of contact to clients regarding project updates, issues, deliverables, and scope changes
  • Leads client meetings in-person or via teleconference, as needed
  • Collaborates and communicates with scientists and business development on project status
  • Facilitates an open environment to enable problem solving of project issues, delays, etc. that could impact the integrity of a deliverable


  • Coordinates with Management to ensure proper monthly billing of the project

  • Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, writing and computer skills


  • Must demonstrate excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and organized, able to work both independently and as a team player with a positive attitude
  • Effectively communicate with peers, interdepartmental colleagues, and clients
  • Knowledge in chemistry, process development and troubleshooting skills, manufacturing lifecycle, and can review GMP documents (master batch record, test records, COAs, etc.)
  • Understanding of cGMPs, SOPs, and systems applicable to work performed


  • Proficient use of standard office meeting/communication software including Teams and SharePoint
  • Expert use in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Projects
  • Develop time management strategies to ensure work is performed within required timelines
  • Use of sound judgement when working with critical or confidential information

  • Works in an office setting


Physical Demands:

  • May lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May sit (or stand) for long periods of time


Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a B.S. in science (chemistry/material science/biochemistry preferred and other scientific fields will be considered).


  • 2+ years of industry experience preferred.
  • A Project Management Certification is preferred.
  • Strong organic chemistry knowledge and experience is preferred
  • CGMP knowledge or previous experience is preferred.
