Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First! 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction. Promote OEG’s Core Values, safety culture and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). Primary duties include: Working under the general direction of the Director of HR - performs HR Generalist functions at a professional level. Provides general support to management and employees pertaining to employment, employee relations, and benefits. Primary duties include administration of human resources activities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·         Assists on a variety of policy and benefit administration items. Answers basic policy or benefit questions.  Process benefit forms. Distributes communication material related to company programs 

·         Screen and assist in interviewing and hiring candidates for open positions.  Ensure completion of required pre-employment testing (MVR, drug test, background verifications), and new hire paperwork

·         Consults with supervisors and managers on employee relations, organizational and human resources issues including coaching and disciplinary action

·         Maintains HR documentation in Spectrum including processing and scanning pertinent documents

·         Supports the safety program through active participation in weekly roundtable discussions

·         Assist in coordination of onboarding new hires and conduct HR orientation on day one

·         Completes verifications of employment and other requests requiring employment verification per established processes and procedures

·         Assists in the administration, communication, and interpretation of policies that relate to the human resources function including, but not limited to, harassment and violence in the workplace, benefits, employment, and paid time off

·         Support recruitment process, including posting jobs internally and externally, updating job descriptions; following process through closeout of requisition

·         Perform additional duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Demonstrated knowledge of benefits, compensation, recruitment, staffing, policies and practices.  Maintain safe work practices.  Maintain and safeguard confidential company information.  Skills require attention to detail, analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must have great interpersonal skills and be able to get along with diverse personalities by being tactful and flexible.  Demonstrated skill working with Microsoft Office and experience in HRIS systems.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must possess a working knowledge of business and human resource practices at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in business administration or human resources management.  Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a human resources role.
