Sr. Buyer (Purchasing) - Hybrid - Full-Time

The Senior Buyer leads, drives and supports all purchasing activities for the manufacturing plant. The Senior Buyer will manage relations with suppliers, guaranteeing goods and services globally and locally.

Responsibilities:

• Lead negotiations with vendors for successful acquisition of materials to support operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally as a primary partner to the manufacturing operation to maintain open lines of communication on timelines and build schedules to guide supply chain activities efficiently.
• Accountable for maintaining accurate and timely delivery of parts and components through managing supplier relations.
• Recommend new and revised purchasing policies and assure compliance with existing policies.
• Understand material specifications and quality metrics pertaining to the components.
• Ability to identify, address and resolve supply chain concerns, delays, or inefficiencies to bridge operational gaps.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, while setting and maintaining clear expectations with suppliers.
• Influence, support and advise fellow Buyers on supply chain efforts, practices and strategy as needed.
• Control supplier relations to positively impact contract term and conditions.
• Track and evaluate supplier performance for optimal contract utilization
• Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members and supplier partners.

Qualifications:

• Development of strong and trusting working relationships
• Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering plus two to ten years experience
• The position requires a broad and in-depth knowledge of purchasing, manufacturing, materials and inventory management, quality, information systems, finance, and engineering drawings.
• The position also requires the business acumen to understand supply chain concepts and how they impact the bottom line
