RESPONSIBILIES/DUTIES:  Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for Time & Attendance administration system including weekly review of timecards and hours. 
  • Prepares, maintains and processes all data related to hourly payroll to include: Job/Shift change, Vacations, Raises and Reviews, New Hires/Terminations, Garnishments, Pay Advances, Lost Checks, Secondary Jobs & Job Progression and other miscellaneous duties not specifically outlined.
  • Performs a variety of Personnel related functions which include but are not limited to distributing employee applications, response letters for resumes, tickle tab file on rates and reviews, maintains file on employee history, maintains and updates UltiPro, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses and Tool Refunds.
  • In conjunction with department manager/supervisors, supports the thermoforming and logistics departments by actively recruiting, screening and interviewing applicants.
  • Completes reference checks, schedules pre-employment physical examinations, creates offer letters, orientation of new hires to include; explanation of benefit coverages, follow-up on enrollment in appropriate programs, and explaining company rules and general procedures. Conducting interviews and processing of necessary data for terminations.
  • Counsels employees upon eligibility for various benefits and options by virtue of length of service or age.
  • Monitors status changes in order to alter records and benefit coverages (i.e. marital status, birth of child, change of address, change in wage rate or age as applicable to life insurance amount and rates).
  • Maintains files; personnel, safety, and medical various programs.
  • Coordinates reports, medical bills, and checks for Worker’s Compensation with Safety Supervisor.
  • Maintains leave of absence records.  Synchronizes disability claims with employees’ physicians and insurance company. Monitors and processes disability pay through Novipax payroll.
  • Performs miscellaneous functions as assigned by H. R. Manager to include: filing, coordination of service award programs, unemployment compensation claims, verification of employment, send flowers as appropriate, reply to verbal and written requests concerning coordination or employee benefit programs, initiate authorizations to fill hourly /salaried positions, distributes various data to employees as required by ERISA, maintains site org charts and employee directory, assists H.R. Manager as required.
  • Trains employees on website use for benefit and payroll systems (UltiPro, Prudential, Merrill Lynch, etc.)
  • Administers and coordinates corporate programs i.e. HealthCheck 360, Annual Benefit Open Enrollment, Policy Roll Outs etc.
  • Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

 

Education/Work Experience:

A bachelor’s degree and three to five years’ human resource experience, or a master’s degree in human resource management and two years’ experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field with SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification, or any similar combination of education and experience.

  • Language Ability: Must have excellent communication skills. English but ability to work with multiple languages
  • Math Ability: Proficient mathematical and computer skills, including basic financial analysis and management.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to systematically work through problems, can work with deadlines individually or as part of a team. Must be able to interface with all levels of staff in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite required and prior UltiPro experience preferred.
  • Travel Requirements – Rare
  • Other (including certifications and licenses): PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
