Job Description: This position works in a collaborative team environment developing innovative solutions for cutting edge ophthalmic surgical equipment. Applying wide breadth of knowledge and experience as board-level design engineer (analog and digital) to bring products through entire life cycle: concept, development, product launch, and reliably working in the field.
Responsible for the design and development of electronic systems and products at the PCBA and programmable logic level, including microprocessor/microcontroller-based designs, analog circuitry, signal integrity analysis, switching power supplies, signal conditioning, and industry-standard communications interfaces.
Works with cross-functional teams including ME, SW, QA, Manufacturing and Field Service.
Applies intermediate level principles of engineering analysis to blend technical knowledge and manufacturing practices in providing solutions to engineering challenges.
Develops test methods and complete testing through the entire life cycle of the product.
May lead design reviews and review action items.
Provides technical leadership and ensures regulatory / statutory / legislative compliance for all project work.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)

2 Years of Relevant Experience
Microcontroller/microprocessor-based circuit design.
Board-level digital circuit design (for example: memory, I2C/SPI devices, ADC/DAC, etc.).
Board-level analog circuit design (sensor conditioning, op amps, filters, linear and switching power supplies, motor drive circuits, etc.).
Wired communication interfaces (Ethernet, CAN bus, MIPI, USB, etc.).
Extensive knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, transmission line theory, and other PCBA layout-related issues.
Design-for-EMC; Design-for-Safety; Design-for-Reliability.
Knowledge of electronic design and manufacturing methods for medical devices.
A wide breadth of technical knowledge, gained from working on a variety of products, is valued.
