Responsible for developing business with core accounts in the designated region, working with Business Development on developing business with developmental accounts in the designated region, exceeding established region sales goals, representing Oceania Cruises at industry events and contributing to overall company success.
Maximize revenue and occupancy production in the designated core accounts within the region.
Work with Business Development Manager to identify developmental accounts to grow OCI business.
Source new business channels and work with aligned Account Executive and Business Development Manager to optimize results.
Develop and execute region sales and marketing plan including co-op spending plan and schedule for trade and consumer events. Manage Co-Op plans and expenditures to ensure alignment with budget.
Develop and execute marketing plan with individual agencies with measurable actions.
Secure, promote and contract group promotions using Marketing Amenity Program.
Conduct regular product and sales training for accounts through a minimum of 15 in-office sales calls per week.
Educate agents and agency owners on OCI programs, promotions and products. Foster top of mind awareness of OCI by key agency personnel through frequent direct contact.
Understand and capitalize on individual account strengths such as database marketing, groups, consumer functions or marketing to create unique solutions per agency.
Participate with trade shows, seminars, ship inspections and other sales-related functions as appropriate.
Host onboard Seminars as required.
Complete weekly sales activity report in SalesForce.Com
Partner with Cruise Reservations, Sales Service and Operations to implement sales & service solutions.
Share best practices with colleagues for mutual success.
Use appropriate resources and sound decision making to resolve complaints, expedite sales and address issues.
Perform other job related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background and/or sales experience
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years sales experience with at least 3 years of outside/ field sales experience, preferably in the travel industry.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Familiarity with region, accounts and key decision makers. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include intermediate level skills with Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Salesforce.com, or other CRM (Customer Relation Management) system preferred. Ability to build personal credibility by way of solid product knowledge, services, procedures, consistent follow-through and problem solving skills. Proven ability to implement contracts using superior negotiation and presentation skills. Creative abilities to develop a personal brand for selling unique cruise vacations and building relationships within assigned territories. Ability to adapt to a quickly changing sales environment; ability to shift priorities per business and/or territory demands. Planning skills for developing a sales strategy for assigned territory. Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team based environment. Effective time management skills to work independently and meet sales goals. Customer-centric skills to foster and maintain business relationships and drive results. Excellent verbal and written command of English sufficient to support travel partners with questions/issues as well as to effectively diffuse situations whenever necessary. Ability to travel within field sales territory, hold a valid state drivers¿ license and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends. Ability to bend and lift up to 30 lbs to pack and transport marketing collateral to travel agents, with reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand for long periods of time for presentations and provide walking tours for clients onboard vessels, with reasonable accommodation.
