Summary
This position provides student recruitment and advising services to the Nursing Department. Duties include attending new student orientations, conducting Nursing facility tours to prospective students, and serving as a conduit and key contact point to a variety of markets for the dissemination of educational information intended to increase program enrollment. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for advising nursing students upon admission to their respective program through completion. This will include strategies for success and recommendations for educational continuation through baccalaureate completion, this individual will serve as a liaison between the nursing department and the Admissions Office and Advising Center.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Required)
Minimum 1 year of related experience (Required)
Proven Experience using Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Power Point®) (Required)
Personal motor vehicle for use during working hours (Required)
Valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver's License or ability to obtain by start date (Required)
College admissions experience (Preferred)
Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Essential Responsibilities
(Critical) Knowledge and experience in the field of nursing education.
(Critical) Provides academic advising for nursing students.
(Critical) Networks, meets with, and presents to groups of prospective students and their HS counselors/advisors and/or families.
(Critical) Advises applicants and prospective students about the admissions process.
(Critical) Identifies prospective students through innovative recruitment and networking methods including, attending recruiting events, answering telephone calls, and following up with prospective students through mailings, email communication, social media, site visits, and phone calls.
(Critical) Processes inquiry and pre-admission paperwork and works to facilitate progress in the process from inquiry to enrollment.
(Critical) Assures all information is handled confidentially and ethically.
(Critical) Networks with area businesses and industry to identify interested individuals to enroll.
(Critical) Coordinates on campus events and tours, serves as a representative at college visitations, career fairs, community and other events, and ensures that a positive image is projected to students and the public.
(Critical) Plans and interprets admissions initiatives, policies and procedures for services provided to prospective students.
(Critical) Prepares admissions data and reports as requested by DON.
(Critical) Provides input to budget preparation regarding programmed recruiting and admissions events.
(Critical) Participates in new student orientations.
(Critical) Schedules and assists in coordinating special activities, events and conferences.
(Critical) Responds to all inquiries for information via telephone, in person, mail, or internet.
