SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION



The Town Manager is a Journeyman Lineman that provides electric services. They are responsible for overall service throughout their area. When services require additional personnel, they will coordinate and assist with the work as needed.



The Town Manager Rate 1will be applied if the employee lives within45 minutesof the Big Sky Shop.



The Town Manager Rate 4will be applied if the employee lives within the Big Sky community (15 minute response time).



DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS





+ All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics



+ Ensure all actions are consistent with Northwestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives



+ Communicate verbally to maintain safety on worksite and during emergency situations



+ Troubleshoot power outages, utility concerns and power quality issues



+ Perform low or high-voltage electrical work and meter-related service work as needed



+ Perform sustained work at heights including on ladders and poles, and in buckets



+ Locate underground services



+ Delivery non pay notices and perform connects and disconnects for non-payment



+ Perform service temporary connects/disconnects at the customer's request



+ Install and/or retire overhead and underground lines



+ Frame, install, or replace poles



+ Perform rubber-gloving techniques to safely service high voltage lines and equipment



+ Fix streetlights and yard lights



+ Set meters to monitor electrical consumption



+ Interact with the public and help resolve customer-billing and community involvement



+ Complete documentation as required



+ Assume leadership role in response to emergency situations



+ Plan projects and direct crews to complete work in day to day and emergency situations



+ Work as a team member to safely and efficiently complete work activities



+ Assist in snow removal to maintain access to utility equipment



+ Shovel dirt to dig or backfill trenches for underground services



+ Work overtime including call out availability for evenings and weekends 'especially in response to acute service needs



+ Respond from home to primary work location within 15 minutes or as outlined in the Summary Of Job Description



+ If the company ever owns and/or operates a gas system in Big Sky the town manager will be expected to perform gas related duties which they are trained to perform such as emergency response and other gas duties they are assigned and trained for



+ Lift and manipulate needed equipment weighing up to 75 pounds





MARGINAL WORK FUNCTIONS

+ Drive to installation locations*



+ Adapt to changes as they are implemented*



+ Operate and maintain electric substations and switchyards



+ Read meters as needed*



+ Organize equipment and perform regular and preventative maintenance





GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS





+ High school diploma or equivalent



+ Journeyman Lineman



+ Valid Commercial driver's license and satisfactory driving record



+ First Aid/CPR Certification



+ Computer skills essential



+ Knowledge of applicable codes and safety policies/procedures



+ Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record



+ Willing to act as project foreman
