NORTHWESTERN ENERGYINTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING: JOB REQUISITION # 3135POSTING DATES: August 6, 2020 through August 20, 2020TitleMaintenance MechanicDepartment/DivisionTransmission - FleetWork LocationGreat Falls, MTGuidepost5-6 ($22.84 to $41.25 per hour)Employment StatusRegular Full-timeEmployment PhysicalRequiredDrug TestRequiredBackground CheckRequiredRelocation BenefitNegotiableSUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Mechanic Maintenance maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on cars, trucks, and other motorized equipment.Typical hours for this position are Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics* Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives* Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on vehicles, heavy equipment, derricks, booms, augers, PTO's, and other machinery* Maintain and repair vehicle engines and drive trains* Fabricate tools and parts as needed* Order parts, scan invoices, and complete other computer or paperwork related tasks* Install and repair electrical accessories and wiring* Perform preventive maintenance in direct repair or outsourcing* Assume full responsibility for emergency repairs* Complete work to minimize out of service time of any piece of equipment* Perform all work as requested by supervisor* Work overtime including evenings and weekends in response to acute service needs* Travel away from home area and stay overnight up to three nights per week on occasion* Lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionallyMARGINAL WORK FUNCTIONS* These functions may be considered essential based on location and other factors.* Drive to installation locations** Organize equipment and perform regular and preventative maintenance*GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS* Minimum of two years technical training from a college or trade school or 3 years of maintenance experience in the operations area* Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record* Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record; valid commercial driver's license preferred or willingness to obtainSELECTION PROCESSWhen considering applicants for this position, the selection process will take into consideration the needs of NorthWestern, including such factors as reorganization requirements, diversity opportunities, relocation requirements, employee development and job succession.
