About us
Established in 1958 as the North Essex Child Guidance Clinic, Northwest Essex Community Healthcare Network, Inc. (NECHN) began serving children with serious emotional disturbance and their families. Since that time, we have grown into an agency offering a comprehensive range of services, which include Outpatient Treatment, Co-Occurring Treatment, Addiction Services, Partial Care, Case Management and Crisis Services. Northwest Essex is also one of seven “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics” (CCBHC) selected by the N.J. Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

We are seeking individuals to join our team who are passionate about helping us achieve our mission to deliver excellent behavioral healthcare through counseling, rehabilitation and education; to provide training for people with disabilities; and to improve the quality of life for those in need.
This position will have a schedule that includes afternoons, evenings and being on-call on weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY: NECHN is seeking a licensed Clinical Supervisor who can be a leader of outpatient services for our agency, providing direct clinical supervision to a team of 10-15 clinicians. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented clinician and supervisor, who is motivated to expand and enhance our agency’s outpatient services on behalf of the clients and communities we serve.
The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Overseeing and coordinating clinical services within our Outpatient Program.
- Providing weekly individual and group supervision to assigned clinicians
- Providing clinical guidance and support to outpatient team members to help them develop and implement appropriate interventions for individuals living with mental health conditions.
- Teaching and modeling clinical interventions, recovery-oriented practices, and culturally competent services for each client served.
- Providing performance evaluations for supervisees
- Ensuring supervisees document all services and treatment plans in the EHR in a timely basis
- Ensuring appropriate training and utilization of evidence-based practices and the integration of physical, mental health and substance use disorder services.
- Maintaining accountability for the professional standards within the outpatient clinic and implementing policies and procedures for these areas.
- Providing backup clinical support to outpatient staff
- Maintaining a partial caseload of clients by providing individual and family therapy
- Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field.
- More than 2 years of progressive supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with a wide range of Mental Health issues and DSMU diagnose including SPMI issues
- Knowledge and understanding of normal childhood development and trauma informed care
