The Research Associate position is for the Department of Family Medicine and newly-established Outcomes Research Network. The primary responsibility for this position is to support the Primary Care and Population Health Investigators and the Vice Chair for Research. This position will assist in expanding the research scholarship of our primary care and population health research community and will be based in Evanston, IL. Travel may be required. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Responsible for assisting with grant generation, publications, research compliance, regulatory submissions and general research scholarship support
Prepares and submits IRB submissions, protocol revisions, and other regulatory documents
Assists in preparing progress reports for granting agencies
Knowledge of research methodology and grant writing
Experience with coordinating grant submissions to various external funding agencies, such as NIH
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and adaptable to change
Attention to detail and responsiveness to deadlines
Excellent writing skills and proven ability to write content for grant proposals
Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a variety of staff, faculty, researchers, and business contacts
Word processing skills and familiarity with Windows-based software, MS Office Suite, EndNote, research databases, and basic statistical software
Familiarity with current medical and scientific research in areas related to genetics
Must be experienced and willing to assist with preparation of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications
Masters Degree required
PhD with post doc experience preferred, in a health science field
