Job Description: Position Overview The Learning Consultant is responsible for designing and facilitating learning solutions to build the skills and behaviors of over 17,000 NorthShore team members. NorthShore is consistently striving to advance a culture of leadership, learning, and engagement during a time of exciting change for healthcare; this role, reporting through the Talent Management Team, will work to progress this journey. The Learning Consultant designs and develops key learning programs, building professional skills across various roles, works with subject matter experts to determine the needs, identifies skills to be developed, and uses instructional design methods to develop engaging learning programs. This includes pre-work, materials, post-work, and also the measurement approach. The Learning Consultant collaborates with the community and other designers on the team to ensure quality and creativity. Additionally, the Learning Consultant works with the Learning Experience team to create and deliver digital solutions to support these programs, which include custom programs developed in-house, while also collaborating with vendors to implement solutions. The Learning Consultant also facilitates learning programs focused on professional and leadership development. The Learning Consultant is responsible for creating a detailed facilitation plan and delivering engaging sessions. In this position, the Learning Consultant is also involved in supporting talent solutions across the system. This includes programs such as Onboarding, Mentoring, Talent Planning, and Performance Management. The Learning Consultant supports the design and delivery of these programs, executing these solutions with high quality and with a focus of engaging team members across the system. The Learning Consultant reports to the Talent Management Manager and is a key steward of the team building a learning culture. They bring visibility to learning and leadership, increasing the credibility of Talent Management and Human Resources in the NorthShore community. Essential Functions Learning Program Design and Development Lead large, complex learning programs ensuring high quality solutions Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct thorough learning and skill and target audience analysis to design aligned learning solutions. Collaboratively partner with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, to align learning solutions to the needs of leaders and teams. Apply the latest in instructional design and adult learning principle to design, develop (or modify) innovative and engaging learning experiences, interactive activities, creative materials, tools, and development resources. Design components may include expert speakers/panels, action learning, coaching, digital and social learning for pre-work and/or reinforcement and learning application. Develop robust facilitator materials for repeatable, scalable delivery. Collaborate with Learning Experience and other partners to ensure smooth program administration and delivery and stellar experience for participants. Collaborate with others on the team to ideate options and solutions, and coordinate on developing and delivering solutions. Define measurement approach and design to evaluate the impact & effectiveness of learning solutions, implementing level 2, 3 evaluation mechanisms as necessary. Facilitation Facilitate engaging in-person, virtual, and blended learning programs to NorthShore team members with high energy. Engage the audience through interactivity, listening, and coaching driving participant interaction while managing workshop pacing effectively. Communicate and connect concepts and skills in interesting and understandable ways to achieve learning objectives. Coordinate effectively logistics and classroom configuration to optimize the learning experience.Consulting/Coaching Facilitate root-cause analysis of requests; differentiating between training needs and other types of performance concerns. Consult with NorthShore University HealthSystem leaders at all levels, including senior leadership, to determine specific development needs. Provide coaching to leaders for performance and development, focusing on emerging and new managers to help them grow. Effectively build relationships, establish credibility and trust with customer(s).Talent Management Solutions Support talent solutions that develop our leaders and their team members across the system, including: mentoring, talent planning, and onboarding. Research best practices and conduct benchmarking to understand the latest approaches and successful solutions. Deliver pilot and final solutions, executing with high quality, engaging team members across the system. Develop websites, support materials, and communications to deliver talent solution.Requirements Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Organizational Development, Training and Development, Psychology or related field Minimum five years of direct experience in training, learning consulting and/or organizational development preferred Hogan, MBTI and/or other assessment certification preferred Crucial Conversations and/or other learning content certifications preferred Dynamic, engaging presenter Experience facilitating through virtual learning platforms Creative in the development of presentations and learning materials Experience with consulting and partnering with leadership and departments to meet their learning and development needs Able to write creative and clear materials and communications that are engaging to learners and the organization Demonstrated teamwork skills with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Demonstrated success in working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities while delivering results Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage across multiple deadlines To learn about the many benefits of working at NorthShore, which include a supportive work environment that promotes professional and career development, diversity, equity & inclusion, recognition of our staff for providing excellent service, and a competitive benefits package, please visit www.northshore.org/careers.
