Logistics Management Analyst/Principal Logistics Management Analyst

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of a Logistics Management Analyst or Principal Logistics Management Analyst , with experiences in supply chain management, and/or related fields, include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, andmanufacturing. The successful applicant will become a part of Northrop Grumman's Life Cycle Sustainment Organization (LCSO) within the Mission Systems Sector, which is engaged in the evaluation, repair, and upgrade of our sustainment systems.
This position is located in Elkridge, Maryland .
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Obtain an understanding of the buyer's role in establishing business arrangements, pricing and term agreements, and import/export compliance.
  • Approaching competitive and non-competitive sourcing in request for quotations
  • Evaluating supplier proposals and placing compliant purchase orders
  • Extracting, monitoring, analyzing, and validating data information from multiple sources
  • Developing engaging and collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal partners/customers to drive problem resolution
  • Becomefamiliar with terms and conditions, and/or special contract clauses/types such as: long term agreements and intellectual property agreements.
  • Manage supplier quality and performance to support customer turnaround times.
  • Will be working in depot environment supporting various DOD and commercial customers.
  • Will obtain knowledge ofrepair material processes and placement of service purchase orders supporting multiple customers
  • Manage purchase orders for legacy product and supporting program leadership with leading indicators of status and estimate at complete (ETC) timelines.
  • Acts as liaison between company and vendors. Contacts vendors to ensure customer property and equipment are evaluated, repaired and delivered on promised dates. Determines when deliveries may be delayed; coordinates with purchasing, manufacturing, and other users to expedite repair requirements; maintains records and follow-up files of purchases, shipments, returns and related matters.
  • Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Analyzes and evaluates proposals; Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts; Recommends suppliers; Follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records.
  • Works in a team based manufacturing environment but must be able to be self-directed
The selected candidate must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by Aerospace and Defense regulations.
This position may be filled as a Logistics Management Analyst or a Principal Logistics Management Analyst based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for Logistics Management Analyst:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of supply chain management, or related fields to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing and/or related experience with aBachelor's Degree or1+ years of experience witha Master's Degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, US Citizenship required
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
Basic Qualifications for Principal Logistics Management Analyst:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution
  • 6+ years of supply chain management, or related fields to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing and/or related experience with aBachelor's Degree or3+ years of experience with a Master's Degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR
  • Proposal experience a plus
  • Familiarity with terms and conditions, and/or special contract clauses/types such as: long term agreements and intellectual property agreements
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience
  • Experience in a Depot environment supporting various DOD and commercial customers.
  • Northrop Grumman tools related to function (GOLD, ISE, Cadstar)
  • Knowledge ofrepair material processes and placement of service purchase orders supporting multiple customers
