The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of apartment complexes, multi-family units or mixed-use business offices. He/she possesses a variety of skills such as groundskeeping, carpentry, plumbing, and janitorial and electrical skills that contribute to their duties. The technician is also responsible for resolving any hazards that may occur on the premises to help prevent safety issues or property damage and is highly dependable, trustworthy and at all times, professional in both demeanor and presentation.
Perform minor building carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as necessary.
Implement preventative maintenance measures
Maintain inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies
Inspections of building facilities independently and with Maintenance Manager or Coordinator
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, meet and assist if necessary, subcontracted trades, and follow safety protocol
Complete move-out maintenance and coordinate any needed subcontractor, working together with the Maintenance Manager and Coordinator in Build Department
Insure Maintenance service vehicle is kept clean, organized, secured and is mechanically maintained with the help of the Maintenance Coordinator
Perform other maintenance duties as required
High school diploma / GED required
Washington State driver’s license with clean driving record (no DUI’s or other restrictions)
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Experienced in operations a variety of equipment, including construction-type powered tools, snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.
Effective written and oral communication skills
Able to work well with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specific procedures
Work hours flexibility and availability for emergency calls
Experience with minor carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting
