Job Description

 TITLE:           Supply Chain Manager       

LEVEL/DIVISION: Operations

REPORTING TO:    Vice President of Operations

SUMMARY:  Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Inventory Control Department by providing leadership as well as day-to-day tactical coordination of demand planning, production scheduling, inventory and logistics associated with executing on time shipment of customer requirements.  The Supply Chain Manager will manage and support all aspects of the supply chain to maximize on-time shipping performance and optimal inventory levels while reducing transportation spend.

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Effectively manage personnel in the areas of production and inventory control

·         Train, supervise and develop the Inventory Control Team

·         Serve as the liaison between Sales, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting and Customers to resolve supply chain challenges

·         Manage QAD as the ERP system to transform independent forecasting, order management, planning/scheduling, reporting and transportation into a single integrated process

·         Lead QAD master data setup and system improvements

·         Manage the weekly production scheduling and inventory control process to ensure execution of the demand plan and customer order fulfillment

·         Communicate any supply gaps that could impact customer service levels

·         Develop and manage analytics and metrics to track performance of all KPIs

·         Participate in monthly sales forecasting meetings

·         Design, implement and manage inventory cycle count process to drive inventory accuracy and minimize year-end inventory shrinkage

·         Continually analyze process and procedures for opportunities to eliminate waste, streamline for efficiency and utilization of emerging tools and technics.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:

·         A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Management/Operations or other related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

  • 7+ year’s progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.

·         Prior supervisory experience or the demonstrated ability to lead a team required

·         Must have the ability to lead and coach individuals and teams while holding them accountable to achieving individual and business objectives

·         Must be articulate with exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·         Solid operations, supply chain, production, inventory control, transportation and S&OP background to provide harmonization of customer service, inventory and costs

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Access and Word)

·         Detail oriented, results driven with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills

·         Knowledge of QAD and how to manage and extract data for analysis

·         Ability to make decisions, drive accountability and solve complex supply chain problems
