Job Description


Serve as Leader/instructor of the scouting program at multiple sites throughout Passaic, Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties.

Support and lead the Scouting/STEM Scouts curriculum during meeting time at designated locations as assigned by supervisor.

Work with District Executive and Units Adult Volunteers to plan and customize implementation and efficiency in curriculum delivery and advancement opportunities for all youth in the units.

Serve in a role of unit coordinator by maintaining an active roster of youth registered and their weekly attendance, as well as, fostering adult recruitment for program support.  

Attend staff meetings as available and position training sessions as scheduled and designated by supervisor.

Determine, make recommendations, of materials and/or supplies necessary to deliver and execute tasks at the different assigned program sites. 



Must be willing to accept and meet the BSA’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.

Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law.  

Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities and weekend work is frequently required.  

A Scouting background is helpful, but not required for employment.  

Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.  

Experience working with children is required.  

Bilingual Spanish is an asset, but not required.
